May 2020

May was kind of the height of the pandemic. The shell shock was starting to fade and people were "pivoting' to try to get their act together. Jack's school was no exception. They started trying to do some check ins in May. Can you imaging doing Zoom classes with 3, 4 and 5 year olds? God bless them. Anyway, Jack took to the Zoom classes, only if he was wearing a costume.  Whatever works buddy! Maybe Kelly should start wearing costumes for her classes too! Thankfully, Jack's school would open in another month and stayed (mostly) open for the duration of the pandemic. There is something to be said for going to a hospital based daycare.
Story time!

(Pandmic) Birthday # 4 !! Before the pandimic started, we were planning to take Jack to the Lego store and Maggie Daley park. After the pandemic hit and everything closed down, we were going to through Jack a pool party in our back yard. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. It was cold and rainy for Jack's birthday. But he didn't seem to mind.
We did manage to score some balloons and legos. It turned out to be a great day.
We ended up having the pool party for Memorial day instead. We bought a brisket from a local BBQ place that was doing curbside pickup. We even had Rudy's sauce overnighted from Texas. After all, it's not summertime without smoking a brisket!
The Memorial Day parade!
Kelly ordered a new light fixture for the dining room. The box and packing peanuts were a huge hit with Jack. 15 minutes later these peanuts were all over the kitchen.
We haven't talked about Casey yet, but she really hit her stride during the pandemic. It turns out, she just really likes having her people home with her.
