Our first blizzard!

The city began shutting down early on Tuesday in advance of the Great Blizzard of 2011! The forecast predicted this storm for several days. Many wondered if it would live up to the hype.
Seemed America's weatherman, Tom Skilling, was right once again! We awoke to find these snow drifts in our courtyard. Those concrete columns are 3 foot benches that sit in the middle of our courtyard. The windows on the bottom row are actually residences!
We bundled up for a Bailey walk. This is a picture of Kelly and Bailey walking east toward the lake. The drifts ranged up to 4 feet!
The view looking down our street. It seems we are lucky! Many cars are 100% covered in snow. Of note, there was an abandoned car blocking our street.
How are we going to cross? Those snow banks are huge!
This is one of the 4 cars we saw abandoned on our short walk to the lake. According to the Chicago Tribune, hundreds of passengers were stranded overnight on Lake Shore Drive alone.
