February

We are continuing to work on our nursery.  Here are the color inspirations for Champ's lowboy changing table.
As you can see, we are making considerable progress in our efforts to bring the vintage dresser back to life.
We think it turned out great!
It snowed again last week much to Bailey's delight.  He likes to spend his days chillin' in the middle of the backyard.  We call the grove of fir trees in the back the "Bailey Forest" since he likes to roll around under the tree branches.
We are also in full winter mode in the kitchen- check out this shepherds pie!
And this pesto pizza!
Also happening around here, one of our favorite diner/bakery places in Chicago closed a few years ago.  The chef/owner occasionally hosts some events, mostly in the northwestern part of the state where she now resides. Luckily, she came back to the city for a pop up brunch at the Long Room in Chicago. The brisket on grits was a masterpiece. Kelly also bought an orange fig scone for breakfast the next morning that she reports was incredible.
Adam's annual boys trip to Michigan is a February tradition. This year's big trip was last weekend to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Another February tradition is Kelly's annual tax day preparations. Thankfully, they are now in the books for another year (whew!).
