2015

We are really enjoying the Jerusalem cookbook we got for Christmas.  Of note, we got a few other cookbooks as well and can't wait to start cooking- Thanks!  Who knew the awesomeness of the spice sumac? We also needed Tahini and Harissa for our new dishes.  We made the recipe from this cover photo- Lamb with eggs!
With lots of weekend snow and freezing temperatures forecasted for the weekend, we decided to hunker down with cocktails and a puzzle.
Our completed puzzle- what fun!
We also tried out a new place for brunch after church.  This is the Fireside Tavern in the Ravenswood neighborhood along the Metra tracks.  It had super neat charm (with a fireplace) and a decent menu.  They serve a version of a chicken fried steak that they call "country fried" that was quite good. Overall, a good start to 2015!
