It was quite the heatwave by Chicago standards last week (in the mid 90's). Luckily, the weather is now much cooler than normal with temps in the 70-80's. It's nice living by lake- a phrase often used in Chicago is "it's cooler by the lake."
Kelly has been searching the city for a decent snow cone for quite some time. Who knew that finding this Southern staple would prove to be such a challenge? After some intensive research, we thought we had found the Chicago snowcone grail. Mario's Italian Ice in the Little Italy neighborhood on Taylor Street. Our conclusion: great Italian ice- especially the cantaloupe! But the search for the perfect root beer snow cone continues...
A nice Sunday afternoon under the 'L at Kelly's Pub catching up with the Kelly family during the 45th Sheffield Garden Walk. A fitting quote from the great movie, the Blues Brothers-
Joliet Jake Blues: "How often does the train go by?"
Elwood Blues: "So often, you won't even notice it."
